Aces for Athens
Aces for Athens volunteer student-run organization dedicated to mentoring and educating local special-needs and Elementary school students through the sport of tennis. As an organization, we understand the importance of role models in a child’s development and aim to support and engage these children outside of their classroom environments. |
Camp Kesem
Camp Kesem is a nationwide community, driven by passionate college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond their parent’s cancer.This camping experience has a lasting impact on children by providing them a peer support network that understands their unique needs, builds confidence and strengthens their communication skills. Each camp is funded, planned and run entirely by student volunteers. |
First Book UGA
First Book UGA seeks to close the literacy gap in Athens-Clarke County by providing free books to low-income students. Our organization works hard to close that gap and provide children in Athens-Clarke County with new books. In the past five years, we have given away over 7,500 books to Title 1 elementary schools. |
Health for Kids
H4K’s mission is to connect Athens youth and UGA undergraduates with health education and wellness resources so that they may actively pursue a healthy lifestyle. |

Students for Latino Empowerment
SLE an activist, advocacy, and community outreach group comprised of students hold on campus meetings to inform UGA students about current events regarding education, Latino relations, as well as political and social events affecting Latino youth. |
Heros at UGA
Over 2,500 students each year take part in a year-long fundraiser to support H.E.R.O. for Children, Inc, an organization focused on improving the quality of life for kids in Georgia infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS. H.E.R.O. is the only organization in the state of Georgia focused on quality of life for this underrepresented group. |
